AI that follows your rules.
Every decision the AI makes — which table, which folder, what to extract, what to link — can be steered: with a description per column, a context for the workspace and a threshold for each step.
Tell the AI how your business works
- 1
Describe your columns
An AI description per column says what to extract — separate from the description your team reads.
- 2
Give it context
A workspace AI context, drafted from your website at setup, tells it who you are — so your own company is never read as a supplier.
- 3
Set the thresholds
Decide how confident it must be to file, place or link on its own; below that, it suggests and waits.
What you get
Describe each column, give the AI your company context and set how sure it must be before acting. Filetable's AI follows your rules, not a black box.
Conditional extraction
Write a value only when a condition is met.
Guided matching
Steer record matching with exact filters that run first and a prompt for the AI.
Classify into your lists
Let the AI pick the right entry from a reference table: an account in your chart of accounts, a cost centre, a project.
Redo on demand
Changed a description? Redo the extraction on the cells or rows you choose.
AI reads each document, decides what it is and which table it belongs to, and pulls out the fields you care about — line items included. Every value stays linked to the spot on the page it came from and is checked against its field's rules, and Form view sets each document beside its fields for a quick review.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to write prompts?
No. Templates come with their descriptions written. You only edit them when your documents need something different.
Can I stop the AI from acting on its own?
Yes. Every automatic step has a threshold or an “always ask” switch.
Which AI does Filetable use?
Several leading AI providers — Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), Microsoft, Mistral AI and OpenAI (GPT) — under data processing agreements that forbid training on your data; Filetable may use any of them for a task. Your documents are stored in Switzerland, and we prefer AI processing in Europe where a provider offers it. Our sub-processor list names each provider and where it may process data.
