Is this invoice VAT compliant?

Drop a supplier invoice. The AI reads what is written on it; each element the Swiss VAT Act requires is then checked one by one, the VAT number and the rates included, each verdict linked to its article.

How it works

  1. Drop the invoice

A PDF from a supplier, a scan or a till receipt.

  2. The AI reads it

It reports what is written: supplier, VAT number, recipient, dates, supply, amounts and VAT by rate. It does not judge.

  3. Each element is checked

By rules written from the VAT Act: present or missing, the number’s check digit, the rate on the supply’s date, the tax against its base.

Frequently asked questions

Which elements must a Swiss invoice show?

Under art. 26 of the VAT Act: the supplier’s name and locality with its VAT number; the recipient’s name and locality; the date or period of the supply when it differs from the invoice’s; the nature, object and extent of the supply; the amount; and the VAT rate and tax amount, the rate alone when the amounts include the tax.

Is my invoice stored?

No. To be read, it is sent to our servers and to our AI providers, then discarded once the answer is returned. Checking a VAT number is done in your browser alone.

Is it free?

Checking a VAT number is free and unlimited. The AI check is free for 3 files a day, shared with the other free tools; after that, a free Filetable account gives you AI credits every month.

Does the tool say whether the supplier is really VAT-registered?

It checks that the number exists in form, with its check digit. Whether the business is registered today is answered by the federal UID register, at uid.admin.ch.

What if an element is missing?

Ask the supplier for a corrected invoice: it must refer to the original and cancel it. The tax authority judges the evidence freely, so a formal defect does not by itself cost the deduction, but a correct invoice spares the discussion.

Checking every supplier invoice?

In Filetable, each invoice that arrives is read: supplier, date, amounts and VAT land in a table, each value linked to the place on the page it was read from.
