Split a PDF into separate documents.
Scanned a stack of invoices into one file? Mark where each document starts, or let the AI find them, then download one PDF per document.
How it works
Open your PDF
Drop a scan or an export that holds several documents. It opens in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Mark the documents
Click between two pages to cut there, or ask the AI to find where each document starts and to name it.
Download
Each document becomes its own PDF, with its pages in order and the name you gave it.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
Not when you split by hand: the PDF is opened and cut by your browser, and it never leaves your computer. The AI mode is the exception: the file is sent to be read, then discarded without being stored.
Is it really free?
Splitting by hand is free and unlimited. The AI mode is free for 3 files a day of up to 10 pages each; past that, a free Filetable account gives you AI credits every month.
How does the AI know where a document starts?
It reads each page, its text and its layout, and looks for what changes from one document to the next: a new letterhead, a new number, a page 1 of 2. It is the same reading Filetable runs on every PDF a customer uploads.
Does splitting change the quality of the pages?
No. The pages are copied as they are, without being printed again or compressed: text stays selectable and images keep their resolution.
Can I split a PDF protected by a password?
Not in this tool. Remove the protection first with the program that created it, then open the copy here.
Splitting PDFs every week?
In Filetable, a scanned stack is split as it arrives: each document is named, read and filed in its folder.
